Software platform Archiboost AI, which specialises in the design and construction sector, has announced the successful completion of a combined pre-seed and seed financing round totalling 6.2 million US dollars. The San Francisco-based company develops artificial intelligence solutions that support architects, engineers and construction firms in identifying errors, omissions and coordination issues in construction documentation at an early stage.
The funding round was co-led by Hanabi Capital and Marathon Venture Capital. RXR Arden Digital Ventures (RADV), Perceptive Ventures and Valley Capital Partners also participated. In addition, prominent business angels including Scott Belsky, formerly Chief Product Officer at Adobe, Aatish Nayak, former Vice President of Product at Harvey AI, and Augusto Marietti, CEO of Kong AI, joined as investors.
Preventing errors before construction starts
The technology aims to pinpoint discrepancies in working drawings before they lead to costly delays on the building site. According to the company, the platform has already analysed more than 550,000 drawing sheets on projects with a total volume of over 3.5 billion US dollars. Existing users include established industry names such as WRNS Studio, OTJ Architects and New York real estate developer RXR.
Georgios Kontominas, co-founder and CEO of Archiboost AI, explained that after operating in stealth mode, the company first stepped into the public eye in March at the AIA San Francisco AI conference. He noted that the key advantage over competitors lies in deep industry expertise. While many market participants merely capture two-dimensional PDF drawings via computer vision, Archiboost AI combines image recognition with metadata from Revit files. Through this integration, the system achieves a level of precision that eliminates the need for manual human verification.
Capital for product development and expansion
Currently employing ten permanent staff, Archiboost AI plans to use the fresh funds to expand its quality assurance and quality control review engine. It also plans to provide a digital assistant for construction administration capable of accessing client drawings and aggregating data from external construction software systems such as Autodesk Construction Cloud or Procore.
- —WRNS Studio is already deploying the technology across locations in San Francisco, New York, Honolulu and Seattle.
- —RXR acts as both an investor and a user of the review software through its investment arm RXR Arden Digital Ventures.
- —In addition to its US home market, Archiboost AI recently expanded into Canada.
Bryan Offutt, partner at Hanabi Capital, described the design and construction sector as one of the largest untapped markets for artificial intelligence and emphasised his confidence in founders Georgios Kontominas and Vasu Jogani. Matt Boras, Managing Director at RXR Arden Digital Ventures, added that owners must inspect every plan set thoroughly, with Archiboost AI acting as a dependable second reviewer for developers during this quality assurance phase.
