Goldbeck Facility Services, a division of the European construction and services company Goldbeck, is continuing its support for the HDI insurance group at its Hanover location. The service provider was successful in a scheduled tender process and will therefore remain responsible for technical facility management services at the headquarters at HDI-Platz 1. The partnership between the two companies has been in place since 2021.
Built in 2011, the office complex comprises a gross floor area of around 77,000 square metres and provides space for roughly 1,800 workstations. Alongside the office zones proper, the ensemble houses a conference centre, a canteen, and an underground car park with approximately 850 parking spaces. The structural centrepiece of the property is an atrium measuring more than 50 by 50 metres, conceived as a central area for gatherings and internal communication.
Scope of technical operations management
Operational support on site is handled by a dedicated Goldbeck team comprising a facility manager, an assistant, and four building services technicians. The contractually defined scope of services encompasses the operation and maintenance of building technical services including heating, ventilation, sanitary installations, air conditioning, mechanics, and instrumentation and control engineering (MSR). Overall responsibility for the property remains unchanged with the HDI insurance group as operator.
Helge Steinkraus, Head of Facility Services Hanover at HDI insurance group, attributed the decision to confidence in the service provider's quality and operational capability. He noted that the headquarters is a key location for the group, whose smooth operation requires experienced partners. Nils Lueken, Managing Director of Goldbeck Facility Services GmbH, stated that the contract extension confirms the work delivered by the team. The service provider regards the renewal as an incentive to ensure the reliable operation of the systems and to continually advance existing processes within the framework of the mandate.
Energy efficiency and sustainable building technology
The headquarters at HDI-Platz 1 features a sustainable energy concept. Around 80 per cent of the energy supply is covered by geothermal energy, while the remaining 20 per cent is sourced via district heating. Architectural and technical features of the building complex include thermally activated slabs, triple glazing, and high-quality facade insulation. The plant engineering is complemented by a large-scale ventilation plant that operates with heat recovery and sorption cooling systems, thereby contributing to energy-efficient operations.
